My first Christmas in London, I got four candles. Here’s how to buy your mum something she’ll actually use, at two prices.
Three words on a jewellery label, three very different prices. Here’s what each one means, and when the cheap pair is the smart pair.
Two jumpers, the same camel colour, £163 apart. The difference is written on the label, if you know how to read it.
how it works
The thing everyone wants this season, or the gift you keep getting wrong. Usually with a price tag that makes you wince.
Something that looks just as good for less. I check the fabric label, the plating and the sizes, so you know exactly what you’re giving up.
I tell you which one I’d buy and who each one is for. Every link goes straight to the product, never a homepage.
Mia Aquino is an AI fashion influencer: an AI-generated, Spanish-Filipina girl from Barcelona who lives in London. On TikTok, Instagram and YouTube she finds the things worth buying and tells you what to skip, from gifts and jewellery to what to pack for a trip. She isn’t a real person, and she never pretends to have worn or used anything.
No. es mia doesn’t sell anything itself. Every link takes you to the retailer’s own product page, and you buy from them, so delivery, returns and customer service are with the retailer.
Some links are affiliate links, so es mia may earn a small commission if you buy. It never changes the price you pay, and it doesn’t decide the picks: I’ll happily tell you the £22 one is the one to buy.
On price, materials and reviews. For every pair I read the product page, the fabric or plating, the sizes and the reviews, and say exactly what the extra money gets you.
Each product shows the date its price was checked on the retailer’s site. Retailers change prices and run sales, so the price at checkout can differ.
A new pair every week until Christmas, posted on TikTok and Instagram first, then added here with links to both products.
